There is no place for violence in Steyr

If you are a victim of violence, seek help!

Violence Affects All of Us – As Victims, Witnesses, or Society.
It often happens behind closed doors and comes in many forms – physical, psychological, sexual, or economic violence. The Soroptimist Club Steyr takes a stand with this campaign:

We want to raise awareness of this important issue and show ways in which you can get help or offer support.

    Am I Affected?
The Violence Barometer helps identify warning signs:

    Respects your decisions and wishes

    Accepts your friends and family

    Trusts and supports you

Ignores you for days when they’re angry

Makes fun of you in public

Controls your outings, clothes, or contacts

Searches your messages or manipulates you

Isolates you from your friends and family

    Is constantly jealous and possessive

    Hits, pushes, or shakes you

Controls you financially, takes your money, or forbids you to work

Threatens to kill themselves because of you

    Forces you into sexual acts

Goes into rages when something doesn’t go their way

What can I do if I experience or witness violence?

If you are affected: Talk to someone you trust. Seek help from a counseling center or call one of the emergency contacts. In danger? Call 110 or 112!

If you notice violence: Take warning signs seriously and offer support. Encourage those affected to get help. In emergencies: Call the police!

    Additional Tips for Witnesses:

    • Gently approach those affected: „I’m worried about you – do you need support?“
    • Offer practical help, such as accompanying them to a counseling center
    • Stay alert and report violence if there’s a danger

Together, let’s take a stand against violence!

Anyone can help prevent violence! With our campaign, we aim to raise awareness about this important issue and show that violence has no place in our city!
